Date: June 1st, 2013, Saturday was my
second Indiblogger meet in Mumbai. Its name was ‘THE XTREME INDIBLOGGER MEET’.
Every meet has presented a new experience with new things for which I like to
present my hearty thanks to Sponsors and Organizers. This time I have had this
golden chance to sit in newly launched ‘TataSafari Storme’. Must say, I felt proud for Indian automobile engineering. I
still remember my college days in 2004, when only two SUVs were ruling the
Indian market in this segment – Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio. However, I
always loved Tata safari, reason, first it had that masculine feel which never
ever had there been in Indian produced cars. In those times I loved and dreamed
about owning an ultimate White Tata Safari. Whenever I encountered a Tata
safari cruise the road, I would simply stop and watch it accelerating, until it
disappears. Broad, wide bonnet of it feels like a chest of a man and when it
accelerate it feels like a Bengal Tiger has leapt on its prey – no matter if
its thousands of KMs away.
Today in the Indian market, we see SUVs from
almost every automotive manufacturing company in the world but, what makes Tata
Safari Storme stand unique? The answer to this question lies in the first sight
of it. However, I would like to present more argument about it.
- It is
manufactured by one of the oldest organization of India – Tata Group,
which in itself is the synonym of Trust in all over India.
- Tata
Motors has more than six decades of automotive manufacturing experience
which in itself is a proof of excellence.
- After
Maruti 800, Tata Indica was the most purchased car in India.
- Tata Nano
in itself nowhere less than a ‘dream come true’ for most Indians.
- Proud
owner of ionic brands ‘Land Rover’ & ‘Jaguar’
Tata has delivered what it promised without ever a
miss, and this time they have delivered a real beast. A beast, which every fantasizing
Indian wants to drive and own. The look is slightly different from the original
Tata Safari but suits its image. The reflective surface has a very fine finish,
simply soothing to eyes.
Mr. Ravi Verma the Sr. Marketing Manager at Tata
Motors, made us familiar with the features and power of this great vehicle in
his presentation at the meet. We all, who were present in the Indiblogger meet listened
and watched his presentation. I was very excited by the very thought that I
would get a ride in new Tata Safari Storme. His team has already done some
amazing arrangement for us. The rides were not the normal road rides; they were
off-roading rides and these rides were going to prove if this beast really is
really what they were claiming.
The trained drivers took us on an adrenaline
rushing ride. Those professional drivers made us scream feel awe, with the way
they handled the beast. Driver tilted the beast at jaw dropping 45 degree angle
and asked me to see the rear wheel in the back view mirror. He has cruised it
to 70 KMph in few seconds and that made sure that Tata Safari Storme can
accelerate 0- 100 KMph in less than 15 seconds. Interior felt luxury, dashboard
had a sooth leather feel and the front seats were very spacious and
pleasurable. If I would get a chance to ride this beat to Leh then I guess with
that kind of comfort I would reach there without much fatigue.
Now let me list down its specifications
